Surfcamp – Bali: Kuta/Legian
Guesthouse mit Pool

Timing:
The doors of our Guest house on Bali are open to you from the 20th February to the 10th April, 2010.

Location:
The Element Called Water Guest house is located on the Southwest Coast of Bali, right by the 2 surf towns, Kuta and Legian. We took the location into serious consideration. Simply put, everything is in reach, but you’ll still have your peace of mind. Whether you’re up for a surf or hungry for something to eat, everything is in walking distance. You can even hop on a motorbike and explore the many little alleyways, discover the little shops or enjoy the buzzing nightlife both Kuta and Legian have to offer.

Housing:
The Guest house is composed of multiple little bungalows and rooms that you can share with 2 or 4 people.  But it’s the bungalows especially, built in the traditional Balinese style and surrounded by lush, green gardens, that make for a lovely stay. All the rooms have a ceiling fan, with some select rooms also doubling up with an AC unit. But beware, these AC’s are so effective that you might find yourself catching a cold. If it’s a cooling off you’re looking for, you might just want to hop into the guest house pool. With this kind of set-up you’ll be relaxed and enjoying your stay in no time.

Food:
Meals aren’t included in your stay. Would be a shame if they were because it’s definitely worth your while to discover the alleys and all the restaurants they house. It’ll be the perfect way to get to know the island, the people and Bali’s Hindu culture.  You’ll notice quickly the influences of Java and Sumatra in the local cuisine. Especially “Padang” food should not be missed! Although only a small island in Indonesia’s archipelago, you will find the most diverse selection of food, from your local Nasi Campur to authentic Italian pizza & pasta, or fresh sushi. It’s not only delicious, but the price is cheap and healthy too. We’ll be happy to be your guides! Selamat Makan!

Entertainment:
There is no shortage in entertainment in Bali, that’s for sure. If you need a break from surfing, try some diving or climbing or you can keep yourself busy with a cultural tour of Bali’s many Hindu temples throughout the island. At night, pick one of the many nightclubs or bars to have a drink with your mates. It’s definitely worth your time to also visit the heart of Bali and check out the lovely rice paddy terraces or volcano. You can either take an organized tour or simply organize a driver who will put a personalized trip together for you and your friends. You’ll realize quickly that anything is possible, just ask us and we’ll find the solution.

Equipment:
Kuta and Legian are true surf towns. There are more surf shops here than there are Hair salons in all of Switzerland. If you’re a beginner and would like to participate in a surf school, we’d be happy to help organize for ya. If a new surfboard is what you’re looking for or you just need to fix a ding, we’ll let you know where to go.

Surfing:
Kuta and Legian beach breaks offer waves for every level of surfer. The whole Southeastern and Southwestern coasts of Bali are full of surf spots. Depending on Swell (wave size and strength), we might even hit some of the World famous reef breaks where things might get a bit more crazy but worth the risk. And besides all the surf on Bali, only a 1-2 hour boat ride away is a small island called Nusa Lembongan where the surf can be epic, and the pace of life even slower.

Arrival:
Flights inclusive a stopover can get you to Bali in about 16 – 17 hours.

Some of the Airlines offer the following routes:

Qatar Airways: Stopover in Doha
Singapore Airlines: Stopover in Singapore
Emirates Airways: Stopover in Dubai
Malaysian Airlines: Stopover in Kuala Lumpur

Its worth it to compare prices, as you might find a deal depending on Airline. You might even want to check out flights via Jakarta (Java) as you might score an even cheaper deal. From Jakarta you can cheap flights with low cost carrier Air Asia.
